Privacy Policy
The short version: this site has no accounts and collects no personal information from you directly. Your game stats and settings are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. We use Google Analytics to see anonymous usage patterns, like which pages get visited. We don't sell data, because we don't have data worth selling.
This page explains the details in plain English. If anything here is unclear, email info@klondikesolitaires.com and you'll get a straight answer.
What stays on your device
Your gameplay lives entirely in your browser. When you play a game on this site, the moves happen on your device, and the results are saved to your browser's local storage. That includes:
- Win/loss statistics and streaks for each game
- Daily challenge history
- Settings: theme, card size, left-hand mode, draw mode, and similar preferences
- In-progress games, so you can pick up where you left off
None of this is transmitted to us. We can't see your win rate, your streak, or your unfinished games. It also means the data is yours to delete: clearing your browser's site data for klondikesolitaires.com removes all of it, permanently. There's no copy anywhere else.
The flip side, worth knowing: because there are no accounts, your stats can't follow you between devices or browsers. Your phone and your laptop will each keep their own records.
What we collect: Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used in aggregate: which pages people visit, roughly where visitors come from, what kind of device they're on, and how they found the site. This helps answer questions like "does anyone actually read the strategy guide" and "is the mobile layout working."
GA4 works by setting cookies in your browser and sending measurement data to Google. That data includes things like pages viewed, approximate location (city level, derived from your IP address), browser and device type, and a randomly generated identifier that lets Google count you as one returning visitor instead of many new ones. We see this information only in aggregated form. We can't identify you personally from it, and we don't try.
Google processes this data on our behalf and under Google's own terms. You can read how Google handles analytics data at Google's privacy policy.
If you'd rather not be counted, options that work: browser extensions like Google's own Analytics opt-out add-on, blocking cookies for this site, or most ad/tracker blockers, which typically block GA4 by default. The site works identically with analytics blocked. Play away.
What we don't do
- No accounts, so we never ask for your name, email, or password
- No selling or renting of data to anyone, in any form
- No advertising networks or ad tracking on the site
- No third-party scripts apart from Google Analytics
- No collection of anything you'd need to think twice about
The list of third parties with any presence on this site has exactly one entry: Google, for analytics. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
If you email info@klondikesolitaires.com, we'll have your email address and whatever you wrote, and we'll use them only to reply. No mailing lists, no sharing.
Children
The site is a card game and its content is suitable for everyone. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included, because we don't collect personal information from anyone at all beyond the analytics described above.
Changes to this policy
If the site's data practices ever change, say, a new feature genuinely needs server-side storage, this page will be updated before the change goes live, with the date below revised. Significant changes will be flagged on the page rather than slipped in quietly.

FAQ
Does klondikesolitaires.com use cookies?
Yes, for one purpose: Google Analytics 4 sets cookies so it can measure site usage in aggregate, such as page views and returning visitors. The games themselves don't need cookies; your stats and settings use browser local storage instead, which stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Can this site see my game statistics?
No. Statistics, streaks, settings, and saved games are stored in your browser's local storage and never leave your device. We have no server-side record of your play. Clearing your browser's data for this site erases them completely, and there is no backup copy anywhere, so export or note anything you want to keep.
How do I opt out of analytics?
Block cookies for this site, use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or run any common ad or tracker blocker, most of which stop GA4 automatically. The site works exactly the same either way. Games, stats, and settings are unaffected, since they run locally in your browser and don't depend on analytics.
Do you sell my data?
No. There's nothing to sell: no accounts, no names, no email lists, and no gameplay data on our servers. The only data collected is aggregated, anonymous usage measurement through Google Analytics, which we use to improve the site. Selling or sharing personal data isn't part of how this site operates.
